Henna, (or Mehndhi, the term for the traditional process of applying henna paste to the body and resulting in a stain to the body) is gaining popularity in the West as a form of temporary body art.

It cools the body,calms the nerves, acts as a sun block, conditions the skin (hair too),beautifies the person and in ancient traditions dating back some 5000 years is believed to bring wealth, health, and happiness to the wearer.

We do wedding parties, birthday parties, girls night out events, and festivals and soon will be offering our own design stencils and henna pastes for sale via our website!

I recently had the pleasure of attending Michael Kors fashion show and enjoyed the evening watching beautiful clothes, and most importantly great hair and makeup for fall of 09!

Hair trends for Summer 09

Well here comes the summer and we know our guests want to know what are the trends or most requested cuts at Pink Karma:

Bobs...Yes the bobs are still the most requested cut but instead of going ultra short, a lot of women are requesting medium length bob's such as the one Ashley Olsen has been sporting.

The other requests that we keep getting are of Eva Longoria's cut...with shorter layers up top and keeping longer layers at the bottom.

Color trends for the Summer...dimensional colored blondes, caramel colored highlights and rich chocolates. Here are some before and afters:

Working in the Salon, we get to see all sorts of transformations...its a lot of fun to see guests who have been coming in for some time and getting the same thing done and then all of the sudden decide to try something new with their looks...its an easy and inexpensive way to update yourself!

Education at Pink Karma is Key!!!

Ahhhhh, the constant desire for education is always present at Pink Karma. We are always attending classes on new cutting techniques, coloring techniques, new trends on make-up...It never stops.

This weekend we attended an evening with the Doves (www.thedovesstudio.com) and then the following day had another dose of whats new on cutting trends and coloring trends. Its this desire that is quickly making us the destination our guests wanna come too when they want change, something fresh, updated and simply put just beautiful!
